An SSL certificate secures transactions, protects private user submissions, and ensures your web visitors do not see a hazardous "Not Secure" browser block. This guide outlines how to provision a free automated SSL certificate.
Step 1: Launch the Let's Encrypt Plugin
- Open cPanel.
- Scroll down to the Security tray and click Let's Encrypt™ SSL.
Step 2: Issue a New Domain Certificate
- Scroll down to the segment header labeled Issue a new certificate.
- Locate your target domain address in the list grid and click the corresponding + Issue hyperlink.
- On the subsequent panel, verify the checkmarks are active for your main domain, the
www.prefix, and any connected primary email routing subdomains (mail.yourdomain.com). - Choose http-01 as your primary validation method.
- Click the blue Issue control button.
The platform requires roughly 30 seconds to run verification challenges with Let's Encrypt servers. Once successful, a message will appear confirming the certificate installation.
Step 3: Enforce Global HTTPS Redirection
To ensure users are routed to the secure version of your site automatically, you must configure a redirection rule:
- Return to the main dashboard menu and select Domains (or Domains > Domains based on your design version).
- Find your domain row inside the tracking grid.
- Locate the toggle element under the Force HTTPS Redirect heading.
- Flip the switch control to On.
